  • Used to use those when I first started work with the council many years ago.......before blowers had even been invented. They were actually quite good and were better than the old wooden toothed rakes usually used. You can still buy them and get spares.... probably not for one that old I suspect.

  • I used one on a 2-acre garden. The guy had every piece of kit ever made in his garages!

The billy goat was amazing, there was a little old Honda Snapper ride-on that never broke, an Elliet scarifier, a huge walk-behind flail for the daffodil meadow, several ancient mowers, all serviced every year.

The only thing that was rubbish was the two Robo-mow machines he bought, the first in the UK. They never coped with English grass or uneven ground!

    Much more stylish
  • I was looking at them on mow direct but I was not sure of the quality or if it was worth the bother as I've never used or seen one in action. Are they suitable for all size of jobs?

Gardeners are too spoilt these days:-0)

When I started work at 16 as an assistant greenkeeper I was delegated with raking up leaves on the fairways....by hand:-0)

A thin piece of board was tacked to a wooden grass rake (with the tines pointing up) and we used this to scrape the leaves into lines. The lines became piles and then, using two boards, would throw into a large trailer.
