Depends how you define active Robbie.

I would define active as someone that has added to the site, either as a blog, groups, project or forum post in the last 3 months or so.

3314167355?profile=RESIZE_320x320There are so many measurements I use to gauge how active LJN is.

89 LJN members have posted content of some kind or another in the last 7 days.

347 separate members have logged in since 01 December. c800 members have logged in in the last 60 days. c800 members read our weekly newsletter. c35,000 visitors each month are returning visitors.

There's a phenomenon in social media (and this, I believe, applies to physical meeting groups also) that only 1% of online communities are ever active at any one time.

I think LJN bucks this trend.

"The 1% rule states that the number of people who create content on the Internet represents approximately 1% (or less) of the people actually viewing that content. For example, for every person who posts on a forum, generally about 99 other people are viewing that forum but not posting."
