Henchman 8' tripod

Hello! My first post on this site. It has proved very useful in preparing to set up my gardening business which has had 6 solid weeks of bookings since launch which I am dead chuffed about.I've now bought myself a Henchman as I seem to be tempting fate hedge trimming on the ladder I have at the moment as I come across more inaccessible hedges. At the moment I have it strapped to my roof bars with a ratchet strap front and back and a bungee either side at the back and it seems pretty good but I would love something like the Rhino clamps particularly as they are lockable but due to the spread of the ladders legs, they're only suitable for the top of the ladder.Does anyone know of anything similar for these ladders?Tom

I have one of these clearly visible on the back end of my steps securing them to the full roof rack on my van.

What is the "clearly visible" issue?

I'd rather it was just secure than worry about what people can see.
  • I have one that lives on my van roof, secured with a cable lock at the front which holds it in place, and a D-lock at the back fed through the last step which holds it secure at the back.

I maybe only use the thing 3 times a year, so it stays up there all the time. Awkward shape to store :)

Clearly visible to anyone behind me in traffic, who may be tempted to follow me home.

We used to use a Rhino safe stow system in the vans which was brilliant for getting ladders from the top of high roof vans.....

However for us a better system was to buy vans big enough that we could fit our tools, ladders etc inside the van with our own racking which was cheaper and better (more user friendly).

Plus with a big van there is more room to load it up with waste from the job too...

I use a 6 step little giant ladder. Stands up perfectly in my high roof transit.
