Getting Away With It!

Just over three years ago, we took over the garden maintenance for a group of 5 retirement homes. All have large gardens and the previous maintenance left a little to be desired to say the least!  During the first year, all of the gardens needed a 'blitz' to knock them back into shape and it was while we were reclaiming some lawn and patio from a Yew hedge that we realised just how much someone had been 'getting away with'.  Years of accumulated litter soon came to light and it became a little competition to see who could find the oldest sweet wrapper or crisp bag.  And the winner was..............a 1993 Lion Bar that had been snuggling there undisturbed for 20 years!!

    That's quite a Bounty of litter. I'll bet a Diam to a dollar it's been no Picnic and Mars of the work has been a Lions share of their inept Kit Kat attitudes.


    Okay that last one doesn't work!

    Just to let you know that in 1999 when clearing out my late grandmothers house we found a tin of beans 30 years old.

        No! Not sure what we might have found.....mummified remains of baked beans perhaps?

    We recently found an old beer can with the old style removable ring pulls - I'm guessing it must have been at least 20 years old!

    A common thing we find are old milk bottles or golf balls!
