What's your personal opinion on Facebook at Work, Phil? Good idea?
Personally, I don't see a market for it - a lot of people do all they can to keep their facebook and work as far apart as possible! Although, Facebook being Facebook, it will be an inevitable success in some shape or form!
The LinkedIn version seems much more apt, IMO. Although not including a chat feature? Huge drawback!
I don't see a great use for it either. Surely if a business wanted to keep in touch internally they'd use an intranet CRM package or even simpler, Enterprise Skype?
There are so many people who just don't like Facebook and they are not going to be best pleased if forced to use it.
Completely agree. Facebook would have thought of this, presumably? Will be interesting to see how they get around these issues? Do you know if they're looking to charge, or is it likely to be a free service, similar to the current FB platform?
"The fact that Rasmussen would not rule out advertising as an option down the road to me suggests that Facebook could consider tiers of its own where some businesses may pay for the product and have it ad-free, while others might take it free and get ads. Again, most enterprise apps are based on a paid model so it’s probably more likely to remain the case here too. Plus this would give Facebook another revenue stream beyond ads and app-related payments."
