Depending on size, cutting them down and repeatedly removing the new growth can be enough to exhaust them.
Roundup on new growth can work.
Eco plugs for larger ones might work?
Many thanks Adam, wasn't sure weather Glyphosate would be up to it, will give it a go cheers.
Cut to the base, paint with neat roundup and tie a plastic sandwich bag over the stump to keep it dry/ wildlife off it.
Yes - agreed... glyphosate as a foliar spray during the growing season or paint the cut stumps/ ecoplugs best in autumn....
If its too large chop it right back and wait for new growth before spraying...
