Not used the ego range specifically but have researched it and use a lot of 36 volt cordless including a stihl battery strimmer, which is my go-to tool for the light strimming work you describe, so I would imagine that the 56 volt would be even more powerful
Hi Russ,
My Stihl dealer stocks the Ego range and rates it highly. It seems a good alternative for the small strimmers, I think I'll be looking to the Ego range when I need to replace.
They also say they've had good feedback, but suspect it only a valid comparison against the Stihl ?
Ironically, we've gone down the Oregon route ( for a few tactical bits )
Cheers Nick - who's your dealer out of interest ? Local to us I guess, might have to check them out !
Also like the idea of the 80 volt "Greenworks" cordless kit which in theory at least could deliver still more power... I think the Ego's etc have taken off more in the U.S., I know their lawn mower has L.E.D. headlamps which may sell it to the yanks but in this country we tend to sneer at such gimmicks lol
...but don't you have shorter days 'up north' so could be useful ?
permanent daylight here in the land of the midnight sun at this time of year Gary lol
Hmm...
Thanks Harry, yes been doing some more digging - the cheaper model 1201 is not waterproof (brushed motor) so no use for us really. Have been eyeing up the 1500 model - thicker line 2.4mm and variable speed motor sounds better !
