I give the clients the option of doing that, but some don't want to see the turf cut around a cover so are prefer for the turf to be laid over the top of it. It relatively easy to unpin the turf and roll it back if they need access. Not ideal. the over option is to glue to a metal cover. they are all a pain in the bum. the worst scenario are the little black covers on the new builds
Galv nails to batten installed around the perimeter. We only nail within the perimeter if require we did use 6" galv nails but now use green or black plastic pegs from our art turf supplier.
grant do you mean fabric pegs?
No they are more like plastic nails not fabric pegs for weed membrane.
another method we use is to put a mortar fillet around the perimeter. once its gone off the next day you can nail into it with clout nails and it holds well. useful next to patios where you need to get the height spot on.
Thanks Thermo I think i will explain and give then the choice.
ben, how do you deal with edges where you have animals in the garden like dogs etc if you don't secure it?
