Can you hire in a trenching machine? Be far faster than the digger and easier to reinstate after?
Hi adam. I dont know of any i could hire localy. The job is located by Shrewsbury. How much quicker would a trencher be?
A hell of a lot quicker there's plenty of videos on youtube of trenchers of various sizes. A skid steer with a trencher will be a bit more common than a dedicated trencher for hire though.
With a 3 tonner I reckon id get that done in 2 days, then reinstated in a further day I reckon. But to price id put the dig out at 3 just incase.
Try your local golf clubs, they regularly use trenchers for irrigation or drainage and may be able to point you in the right direction. This sounds a good way to lose a lot of money if you are not careful, personally I would get a specialist company in to quote and maybe manage the works.
ground source is not done usually using a trencher, as 2 pipes are usually in the trench with a gap between , 300mm is a unusual trench as as pipes are normally min800mm apart to stop frezing , 800 bucket pipe on each side of trench
i would say 3 days poss 4 for a good man
Well done Mark, always someone who knows what they are talking about! ;-)
its a simple job for a compitent digger operator, i would not price it on a day rate, no money to make, it would be a price job per linear metre, hit it hard and draw the bucks myself 3 days done and finished
