Trees & Winter.

The bark of some trees can be fascinating in winter gardens and sometimes, among all the reasons to choose a tree from a designer's point of view, this is the less considered against others like foliage, flowers or even fruits.

But bark, apart from playing a vital role in protecting the tree itself, can be very ornamental and contribute to the winter landscape, don't you think?

    Acer griseum, favorite plant, love it.

     

    Green leaves in Summer, orange-scarlet in Autumn AND peeling bark in the Winter.

     

    Serrula is top 10, but nowhere near griseum.

     

    For year round interest, nothing better!!!
