A Quick Reminder to Talk

A Quick Reminder to Talk

As Blue Monday is fast approaching, I thought it would be a good idea to give a small reminder to our community here on Landscape Juice to remember to tell people about your worries and if you’re having negative thoughts. Talking about emotions is one of the most challenging things to do but reaching out to a loved one or even a stranger can have life-changing benefits. This industry is often a lonesome one – long days alone, dark evenings and dark mornings.

This can really take its toll. Having too much time to think can make thoughts spiral out of control and if they are kept private, they can develop the ability to brainwash you into thinking things that simply aren’t true. As they say, a problem shared is a problem halved, but sometimes just saying things out loud can put issues and feelings into perspective. Not only could it benefit your wellbeing, but it could also benefit your relationships – as being open, honest and trusting towards someone can make them feel important to you and can bring them closer. If you feel as if there is no one that you can turn to, please never feel as if there is nowhere to go.

My Dad created this whole platform in the aim of bringing people together. Talk amongst yourselves, privately or over a forum post, share your experiences with one another. You would be surprised just how many people feel the same way you do.

Great post Fleur, I lost a friend recently. He seemed like he had it all.

Thank you Robbie. I'm really sorry to hear that. It really does show that you never know what is going on inside someone's head... It's when those kinds of things happen that you realise how much of an impact opening up to people can have. My best friend's partner took his own life last year and to witness the struggles that she went throughfrom losing him, you would never wish to inflict that on anyone, so you can tell that it comes from a place of pure desperation. It makes you feel helpless when you experience it as it is preventable. I hope you are coping ok with it.

Given the current situation, this Blog is so relevant. I know many Contractors are concerned/worrying and maybe already struggling.

Please DON'T feel alone. LJN Friends, colleagues, etc are all in similar situations, so get online, get chatting, sharing and discussing.
