I was waiting all day to this part of the day to be able to write it.Unusual But beautiful blue sky covered the lush of the endless green fields that I could see from my office's window .(ya I know,It's a great day to work outside -but my website needs lots of work and I had to look for another job vacancy to bring some income). It's exactly it -I had to be very motivated and to do a boring job on the computer with very slow software and yes in this case love made me motivated.love to my family can make me work ever so hard. But not just getting love from them make me motivated -It's also the energy of love coming from a happy customer saying 'ofer- I am over the moon' just as I finished a job few weeks ago, or another one said to another fellow near me 'this man saved me so much work in the garden he made for me' about easy care garden that I did.In the last week I got motivated with Philip and Craig trying to help me with many tips and helpful advise,It keeps on 'drive' when I know someone there is willing to help. But to do well, you need quality marketing.I would explain quality marketing as: show love to others: help them, care about them -let people feel it.To Create a net of people that love you and are willing to help you.Not in a negative way,(not from selfish point of view) in a positive way -make friends.I was just cutting a peace from the local newspaper ( market Drayton Advertiser) with my name in the front page.I was involved in building memorial garden for Jay Howlet at the infant School.Jay and his Dad were drawn to death in their summer holiday -tragic case.I felt lucky to be part of it.very kin to work friends and family we all made it in 2.5 days.there was a great atmosphere and I could see how important it was for the family and to Debbie the mum. From some reasons they all called me Jeff. The gardening side is interesting too as the children in the school brought the ideas and first design.Jay loved football -and was good with that so the school's children decided on a football shape.(It was a bit tricky-but looks great)As we all know there is a bit of different between gardening for few hours a week as hobby and making a living from it.It get a bit harder in the second case and needs a good motivation to keep on going.I found that It's important to know what drives you and to fuel yourself before the fuel myself before the point you get empty.A good balance is for sure make it easy.to keep myself motivated I should stop here and edit It all again in the morning.to watch gardening products on my website

  • Hello Ofer

It is difficult to get yourself motivated everyday, that's being self employed, no boss to tell you that your great or rubbish, no nice pay rise and paid sick leave. You are doing this job for the love and comfort of your family. The perks will come in time and are well worth the struggle.

Phil and Craig are completely FANTASTIC and willingly offer their years of experience, for free! Phil has produced some spreadsheets on this site to work out what you need to charge, whilst covering all your expenses. Keep listening and act on the advice you glean, they, and all of us are on your side.

Client satisfaction is everything, and a great big boost! Focus on the positive comments which you have received and market yourself on your success.

Marketing is sort of logical. Identify what you can do, are realistically capable of and the radius from home you would like to work. Design yourself a Logo, spend some money on getting good quality cards printed. Get a map of the area you would like to work in, and then target these areas. A good, simple web site with great pictures is essential.

Make contact with local garden designers and arrange a morning where you can take them round the projects that you have been involved in.

You obviously enjoyed the memorial garden project, so perhaps it would be an idea to approach local nursing homes, schools, etc and try to secure a regular maintenance contract or find out if they need any landscaping?

    Hope this helps a bit.
    Kerrie
  • Thanks Kerrie,
for your sympathy, I must say I am full of motivation now.Phil and craig helped and seems like helping all the time.

I had tough years in the past(army service, established the business when economy was realy tough, a car was stolen but this year was harder in a way -It's hard to explain but when you feel like you are going back -It's hard.

I also had to get used to a far different mentality and had some expectations from my English family and It hurt. but I know today that It's important to move on and to concentrate on building myself back for future.
As I believe that I can do better as a trader(got some good products) I am focusing on that and trying to get some jobs for present.

I had to learn a lot,to start my trading business (and I was struggling with my English a lot and all of that time felt realy bad with no family support).

One of the things in life is good friends/ family support to support.I left many great friends back there .(that served with me in the army 12 years ago. I served with a group of girls and boys for about 8 years and shared many adventures/experiences).but the good thing is I am making new friends.like you, phil, craig and few more.(just got many phone calls from Israel today as one of the friends crushed to death in a airplane crush). It is sad but in a way good to know how they all appeared for the fוuneral and keep visiting his family.

well I got to move on with work, soon I will make a movie to show the use of the strimmer resist lawn edging -I bealive it will help to show how good product it is. and I will work on the website a lot this week. There is lots to do .
    thanks a lot
Great to hear from you keep in touch
    Ofer

"Stihl introduced the AK system some years after the AP system, which to be fair wasn't really selling in the numbers they might have hoped at the time, the idea presumably to kick start sales with a less expensive battery range, can't blame them for…"

"Yes, it runs on the AK battery system. It does also have a variable trigger but it is very sensitive and quite tricky to hold at a very low speed. "

"The Toro 51835T looks to have variable speed around £149 for the bare unit then add battery and charger which fit their other cordless kit  .
I only ever use edging shears these days around patio windows ,conservatories and parked Tesla's .

Peter sellers replied to PAUL's discussion Small, compact battery strimmer with variable speed trigger?
"If they are only small areas could you use edging shears? We do and there is something rather therapeutic with going back to basics ! You need to buy CK or similar and spend upwards of £60 for decent ones that stay sharp."
