I love learning new things, your never to old to learn.
What have you got in mind Gary?
I'd love to do masters but could I devote enough time to it?
I've done business studies and probably would not return to that subject, but don't laugh at my hankering ;-) :
A foundation degree level course in Waste Management (with special interest in Green Waste recycling).
It is being offered at various levels and various locations, some distance based.
I feel (know ?) it will continue to become 'big business'......
Nothing like getting your hands dirty :P !

I have been teaching horticulture here in Ireland since 2004 and in order to remain in employment I had to complete one more year to get a degree. Rest assured you will have no regrets and will enjoy it all the more now that you are that little wiser.
I teach Fetac Level 4 and Level 5 to male and female adults (further ed) and the age profile varies from 17 through to 77. All of my mature students excel and are far more interested in their subject matter than the younger less willing candidates.
Take the plunge and enjoy.
I think college can be a great thing for the right people. For those in the trades I imagine it would always be a good idea to keep up to date on all the new advances in the field. I love learning anything new in what I do.
The other reason I think its great is just for the people you meet and the relationships you can build. Especially for those in school for agri/horti, it can open up a lot of opportunities for work and possible partnerships with others.
