Hello all

My previous viking k755mb mower had it, so i ordered the new hydrostatic viking 756 with the single arm to handle.

Looked nice and very built well but it's the slowest mower i ever used in my life, a snails pace!

Also the hydrostatic drive was locking on, don't think i like hydrostatic drives.

I sent it back to the shop and they said stihl/viking know about the problems and it's an easy fix so they tried to fix it today and it made it slightly better but it's still far to slow and bogs down to a snails pace on thicker grass or mossy lawns!

So i need need a new lawn mower (again)

Can anyone recommend a FAST paced 4 wheel mower with good wet collection, ideally 53cm size. would be willing to spend up to 2 grand.

cheers all

  • which model?

    kawa or honda?

    • Whichever one you prefer. Personally I would go for Kawa. They are real easy to maintain.
  • Etesia pro53 - good machine but is a little on the heavy side - wont let you down tho. Depending on dealer you should get one for about £2100-£2300 or so

  • Wow thanks for the warning, was about to buy the new Viking my self love my old 755 but its getting past its best & don't feel its good for another season

    • There is also an updated 755/756 coming soon, non hydraulic, 3 speed setting like the 755. Also has the new magnesium deck. the new machine is built like a tank i'll give it that much.

Think i may go for 3 speed non hydrailic when available.

I've been invited to meet their local sales rep next week, if I do - any questions ;) ?

        • Thanks Gary, I ordered the older viking 755 again.

  • I'v just bought my 2nd rover pro cut 560. About £800. My other one is 10 years old. They have a good pace. Mulch well and collect well when needed. They also have swing tip blades to save damage. simple machines. Simple gearbox
    • I would keep away from the newer Rovers as they are not built anything like they were years ago. Wheels snap off and blade bosses keep shattering unlike the older version which was built like a tank.
