Stiga, best mulchers I've ever seen.
Hello Rob,
Acacia currently have an excellent fully serviced ex-hire Etesia Pro 51k for sale which has an optional mulching kit available - we do not have the mulching kit but you can pick one up online quite easily. The machine would then give you the option of mulching and collecting for different jobs.

I have a Viking 755 with mulching kit and it's actually really good, and easily switchable between collection and mulch. It's lighter than etesias and leaves a smoother cut. Plus a whole lot cheaper, if perhaps not as sturdy.
Honda versamow has served me well over the past year and hasn't put a foot wrong.
Nice light machine with a 6.5 engine does a good job and collects when conditions change from garden to garden.Even on collection mode i usually bypass some cuttings back into the lawn to lessen
emptying times.
Etesia 46 for really wet days in my neck of the woods.
I've used quite a few over the years and the Husqvarna Pro53s takes some beating. Lightweight, turns dead easy, good finish, cheap parts and easy to fix.
Only bad points are lower handle bars snapping, handle bar brackets snapping and blade bosses wear out quickly. As with nearly all mowers they need speeding up from the factory setting. Oh yeah, and the front tyres need gluing on to the wheels.

I used to recommend Toro Prolines but the needle bearings (rear axle and gearbox) are a problem and i'm leaning towards lightweight machines these days because of all the wet summers we have.
I can second the rovers just pop in the mulch plug and it mulches very well.
Also very good pick up in damp conditions too should you want to collect.
