Leaf blowing law

Anyone know the law on leaf blowing ie if you blow leaves off a pavement into the kerb side is it legal ?Having been stopped by a council worker who said its a 40k fine, my reply was you haven't been here for ages and if my client slips up what happens then.Perhaps we should all leave the pavements outside the property to the highways,I see maintenance companies clearing the pavements all the time how do we stand ?

  • Interesting this is slightly different it's not leaves from the garden just leaves on the pavement I suppose it's the same leave well alone
  • The lazy council worker just doesn't want to have to clean up any leaves on the road, I would just ignore him.

  • Seems to me the leaves are being collected less frequently ?
  • So what would you do leave the pavement ?
  • I used to work for a local council and yes it is illegal, it is normally enforced and down to county council or the environmental enforcement officer, it is un likely that a member of staff on the borough council or parks department would go back and report it tho unless you up set them
  • So do you leave pavements ?
  • Ok let's throw this open what does everbody do leave the outside of a property ie the pavement or clear the leaves up ?

I would blow the pavement and collect. Nothing annoys me more than leaves being blown out of a driveway onto a road and seeing them left there to blow here, there and everywhere by the wind or passing traffic.
