John Deere Mower.

Right, as i ended my last thread stating im after a mower, preferable 18/19" plus, budget of about 450, dont mind second hand, as long as its serviceable, and a good workhorse,After doing a bit more browsing online, ive found a fewI spoke to a service/repair place not too far from me, and they have offered me a John Deere R47VB, aluminium deck, for £350&vat.It's been fully serviced etc...Has anyone used one? Or better still own/owned one?Any thoughts?Or has anyone else got a recommendation?

  • That's nearly half price, about £300 off a new one, so might be a good deal if it's not been worked to death by the previous owner. There aren't a lot of the JDs in commercial use so it might well have had gentle domestic use only?

I guess, if you trust the guy selling it, and he wants your repeat business over many years, it's worth a punt. I can't think of many machines up to commercial work that you'd find for £420! Got to say I'd be looking for an Etesia for that money if I needed a wheeled 19" mower, though.

  • etesia very good. im not keen on j.deers.
