That's nearly half price, about £300 off a new one, so might be a good deal if it's not been worked to death by the previous owner. There aren't a lot of the JDs in commercial use so it might well have had gentle domestic use only?
I guess, if you trust the guy selling it, and he wants your repeat business over many years, it's worth a punt. I can't think of many machines up to commercial work that you'd find for £420! Got to say I'd be looking for an Etesia for that money if I needed a wheeled 19" mower, though.
