Maybe Prince Charles can give this job a go....!
£15000 is not too bad If you get perks - I know a local country estate North of Leeds (Not Harewood incase anyone guesses), where you get £14k, a cottage, 1/4 acre garden, Vehicle all included, which does push up the value of the job alot.
Also - £15000 is what a huge proportion of the population earn, 50% living on under 20k, so for half the population, this is seen as an acceptable income.

This possibly does have a bearing on why many people are reluctant to pay enough to cover our operating costs, let alone leave us with a good wage.

It's how the rich keep their cash.(Plus I doubt they've any idea of the cost of living for a normal person)
A freind of my folks went for a job interview at a well known local stately home. She inquired how much the salary would be at the interview. The interviewer replied quite shocked and stated that working for the estate was more about the prestige than the money.
Come the revolution comrades.....
