A golf course manager has been found dead after apparently being hit by a falling branch.

The body of Dougie Johnstone, course manager at Hinckley Golf Club, was discovered on the course by a member early on Saturday morning.

Mr Johnstone was understood to have been working on storm-damaged trees on the course on Friday.

It is believed he was injured by a falling branch and that he was out all night before he was discovered the following morning.
