Phil finally boards Brittany Ferries to Portsmouth this afternoon after some frantic activity when they initially refused him access.
Good sense was seen after 'pressure' applied by various parties and now he is relaxing ready for arrivial at Portsmouth and the start of the 'long leg' to JO'G
Phil arrives in Portsmouth tonight on the Brittany Ferries Caen-Portsmouth crossing arriving @ 9.15pm and will stay o/n in the nearby Ibis Budget Hotel, Fratton Park, Portsmouth Hotel.
I'm on my way down to greet him and have a drink.
If you are local and fancy joining us...come along
Looking to make sure we can have bite to eat and a nice drink, but early start tomorrow with Etesia, Fusion Media, Perennial all due here for start of UK leg.....
Weather poor, but expected to stay reasonable on Saturday & Sunday.
well done gary you are a true dimond
i hope all runs smoothly in the morning and phil isnt to hung over
Is anyone planning on meeting in south of England to see phil? If so I'd like to come. (Providing work commitments don't stop me) would be nice to see and support phil in his journey.
Fantastic to see Phil has made it to UK Soil and lets hope the weather is good to him on his way North!
Had great evening with Phil, lots to do and arrange, but now firmly on way 'up' England. He was last heard of South of Winchester area, but phone coverage has been a challenge today.
Various Interviews : TV, live Radio, local press and more.
Looks like we are seeing some good coverage due the help of various people etc.
Personally disappointed that our industry associations that purport to represent the 'whole' industry have really not participated yet.
However there is still time and I'm sure they are watching the coverage and realising what an opportunity they are starting to miss.
If you belong to any of the Associations and feel they same, why not contact the respective Chairperson's and make your views known?
After all, its 'us' who will benefit knowing Perennial guidance, advice and support is there in difficult times...
Remember the goal is to raise over £10K for Charity
After spending the morning shadowing, helping get him out Portsmouth (!), organising fuel, rest stops etc, have now left him in the capable hands of others.
Great to see coverage increasing - the event has even made the BBC website :-)

Sorry for the lack of posts yesterday. Always difficult travelling and last night I had no signal.
Hoping to do at least 250k today.
Had donations on route too which is great.
