Cheaper Alternative.

I made a post earlier today about my Stihl equipment getting stolen http://landscapejuicenetwork.com/forum/topics/stolen-stihl-equipment

I was wondering if there are any cheaper alternatives so that I can still get on with my work?

I need a combi system with long reach trimmer and pruner a blower, chainsaw and a small hedge trimmer.

Just need something that will stand up to being used all day most days of the week.

Regards,

Ashley

Honda versa tool would be cheaper still not cheap though £1400-£1500 ant that's pole pruner not chainsaw. You could knock pole pruner off though and get a small stihl ms170 maybe.<br />
That's bad news about your stuff getting nicked though makes my blood boil. Have they ruined garage door as well?<br />
What a way to start the new year.
Or you could try efco multimate that would be cheaper still about £200 for engine the £125 ish for long reach a bit less for short reach trimmers they do blowers and pole saws for it too.
I have one its not up to stihl and honda standard by any means but if you look after it it's not bad on a budget.
Engine is good the attach, nets are a little on the flimsy side. So you would need to be carefull
    • Thanks Richard for the reply.

Going to go round the local dealers tomorrow and see what they have. Ye, let alone stealing £2000 worth, I need a new lock for the door + probably going to have to alarm it and reinforce the door some how. So its cost me around £500 just to fix the damage they did.

Echo or Tanaka would be just as good (opinion varies).

Whichever less expensive range your prefered dealer sells would be my advice.

  • Hi Ashley,

Sorry we are a little late to drop this reply to you.

Our CAMON HO35 might be a valid option for you: http://www.camon.co.uk/products/brushcutters/combi-ho35-brushcutter..., didn't see it mentioned in previous replies so thought I would pass it under your nose for consideration.

    Any questions email johnb@tracmaster.co.uk.

Sorry to hear about your equipment being stolen :(

  • Watch they don't pay you another visit in a few weeks for your replacement machines!

  • was looking at your brush cutters there tracmaster........£450 for entry level model!!! looks very similar to models ive seen from kaaz & lawnflite which also have same kawasaki engine main difference being you can pick up either of those for less than £300

    • Hi John,

Appreciate your message! Although looking similar there are some differences in some of the materials used. Obviously the value of that difference is down to you as a purchaser to decide. We do appreciate you bringing us this feedback as it helps us evaluate the position of the products better in the market, so genuinely thank you for the response.

  • think its vastly over priced stewart, sorry but thats my honest opinion you can get more powerful pro quality brush cutters from the likes of stihl/husqvarna/echo/tanaka for around £100 less

    • Feedback appreciated John! As I said, it all helps with our plans going forward. New catalogue coming out soon with a few product line changes we hope you will all appreciate, and a few promotions this year we think you will love :)

P.S. Crikey you were up later than me last night! Burning the midnight oil?

From what I've seen of the camon stuff is that they are well made. Hire shops around here seem to use them which says somthing about them to me
