Hi Robbie
This is what I used to have:
Groundsman Industries: http://www.groundsmanindustries.com/product_detail.php?sID=9
IMO the best machine on the market (but above your budget so it's worth looking at a leasing or HP option).
Earning potential is optimised and we could easily earn £400 a day and some days we earned £600 using this machine.
The only drawback is the access to some rear gardens because of the width of the machine.
I purchased a second hand SISIS Turfman which is 36inch wide so It can get through gates - needed painting to bring it upto date - but have found its a brilliant machine and is cheaper than renting - which gives me more time and options to save for a brand new machine,
Perhaps an option - buy second hand for a year prior to buying new?
I own a Plugger aerator, This will be its 4th season, have replaced the hollow tines once, works of a cam so hard ground not an issue
If it went knackered I would have another.
Hi there Robbie.
We bought a Billy Goat hollow core aerator for the start of this season, absolutely amazing.
It is now up for sale as we are expanding and now we are in talks with Groundsman and SISIS.
Here is a picture from our web site and also a few high res for all of you.
What money are we looking at for the 2 above?
Hi Robbie
One of the best machines on the market is the Ryan Air , but i use a toro which is bit big for what you are doing
Thanks for all the replies guys :)
I have been looking at some stuff online and it seems the ryan, Billy Goat, plugger and groundsman seem to be the popular stuff.
Having used groundsman in the past I know it's good gear, the downside is I think it would be a struggle to get in through your average garden gate, so at the moment probably no.
As far as I'm aware our local GT guy uses the ryan stuff, I spoke to the local dealer and he told me yes i can order it in if I want to buy it. But I would be buying on spec as he won't get one for me to look at to decide if I want one or not.
What sort of depth are you getting with the plugger lawn lover?
English sheep, if your so happy with the current Billy Goat why are you selling it?
I'm curious would you fill the tank much to add the weight, I have heard that in some of the warmer states in America the guys fill it with sand.
Hi there Colin.
We are looking at around £2250 for it excluding delivery.
Hi there Robbie,
We are looking at getting rid of her as the company has expanded and we will be identifying the Sunday league type sports client, tennis clubs and other semi pro sporting events.
Perhaps if we have somebody else join us then we would keep her?
We now require a machine that can offer us different tine usage and a machine where by we can use different type of tines to potentially alleviate panning, aid in preperation with seed bedding and also a machine that offers jumbo tines for clients with especially difficult lawns where by we can get greater drainage results.
We are also looking at the SISIS Autorake MK5 but that could be for a different post rather than taking from your aeration post.
We honestly absolutely love the Billy Goat and the build quality easily out shines similar type machines.
The Billy goat you can use dry sand to increase depth of core and to aid penetration on some of the harder grounds.
As the BIlly goat video says, best in class engagement. It really is.
Best in Class video
We honestly wish Billy Goat had another model to offer meeting our criteria as we do love the Billy Goat brand.
bought a ryan 3 years ago and its a great bit of kit, faultless Honda gx120 engine, variable speed 28 inch wide had no problems through gate ways, and certainly moves at speed at full rev,s and you can spin it around just like a mower at full speed!! comes with weights as well that go in the sides but only used a couple of times, tried the husky for 3 months and they feel unbalanced when turning at full speed, camon to me are way too slow and bulky,
and yes the gradens to wide for gateways, I would recommend 100%
