Honda or Masport?

Looking for lightish roller mower, not battery!Anyone using Honda 476 QY 19 inch or Masport rotorla 22 inch ? Both similar weight, looking at the Masport don't like the handle bracing bar which runs between the 2 vertical handles and looks like it will make it awkward to get the grass box on and off and no blade brake but the discharge chute lot wider than the Honda so wet collection better? Not interested in Hayter 48 vs bbc or 48 pro both crap, had both and sold them.Appreciate users thoughts…

Lawn issues

Im after some advice regarding a lawn issue.  A customer had spoken to me regarding their front lawn that really struggled to put on any growth at all even during spring time. I suggested that because the house is a new build, although built a number of years ago now that it probably has rubbish under the soil. The customer explained that they had the garden dug up and tonnes of fresh top soil put down by a landscaping company. I suggested that the lawn may be compacted as the soil was put down…

Battery hedgcutter advice

Hi all,I have recently retired properly from my self employed gardening business, although I still do a few bits!  I’m now faced with upkeeping my own property of 1.5 acres, plenty of everything, grass, hedges, overgrown bits etc etc.Previous work has really taken its toll on my knees and upper arms (long reach hedge trimming) as well as advancing years. Initially I’m sticking with my old equipment, nearly all petrol, but the first thing I want is a lightweight, battery powered hedge trimmer. I…

Mower choice.

After a few years of excellent service the gearbox on my weibang virtue 53ssd (shaft drive) has failed.I could have it replaced. But I'm minded to get a new machine instead. I'm looking at possibly a Stihl this time as a lightweight alternative. Plus I like the plastic collection box as opposed to mesh bag. The vast majority of my lawns are residential. I currently have a 19" Izy. A 19" masport roller and a Stihl 21" roller mower.I liked the power of the shaft drive Weibang. But not the…

New Startup Advice Please?!

Hi there, I'm a 46yo woman and have done a desk job all my working life, but did do a degree in Landscape and Garden Design back in the day (basically a hort degree with a design element tacked on) and I am a bit of a gardening anorak!    Unfortunately, I've had a string of injuries (slipped disc in neck, RSI in both wrists, tennis elbow on both sides, shoulder injuries on both sides)  ALL apparently linked to the fact I sit at a desk all day!  I do think my health and wellbeing would be better…

HAVS

We're just looking at proper HAVS ratings for our machines, and some of the results are frightening.  One of our Honda mowers comes up with a result of less than 2 hours use a day, then no other machinery: and there's nothing that lets you do a day's work.  How do other people manage to do a day's work?  Or is everyone just keeping very quiet? TIA
