Summer House for a Period Residence and Garden

This mature garden needed an injection of design and space-planning to make it work for the client; A charming summer house was required, together with an informal space for entertaining. Trees were removed, the ground levelled and a new brick wall built, with an arched gate feature.The client loves to hold outdoor dinner parties and had strong ideas about the look of her garden. The brief was to introduce elements of a formal parterre garden, so by introducing Box edged borders containing soft herbaceous planting and lollypop variegated Holly standards, it was possible to achieve the desired effect.
