This is a garden I have designed and worked on since 1997. The property is a self-build bungalow and was a greenfield site prior to construction. Upon erection of the dwelling, the first task undertaken was the erection of 2m high timber closeboard/feathered edge fencing around the perimeter of the site. This was enhanced with home-made trellis panels to screen off sections of the garden and provide anchorage for climbing plants. The next task was to lay concrete paving to form footpaths/patios and some areas were timber decked. The garden was then heavily planted with exotic looking (predominantly evergreen) specimens and mulched with gravel to supress weed growth.
