No, for me it's like the whole decking discussion where people worry that smooth decking is slippery versus the grooved style. But personally I'm in the camp where a larger surface area for your shoe equals more grip.

It came from us, but I guess it kind of evolved through discussions with the clients, plus it's one of those things I think i have had in the back of my head.

Was the board walk your recommendation or did the client specify it ?

Just treated 6"x"2 nice and chunky and simple. Personally I liked it un-stained but left it with the client to think on whether to colour it or not.
