    Almost... Karen came back with it from a talk on herbs – it looked like fat hen to me – Laurence D Hills says: “An early warning that lime shortage is interfering with crop nutrition is a red-purple tint showing phosphorus lack in the growing tips of fat hen which is phosphorus-greedy”... but our one had a label on it saying “tree spinach” - 8 foot! Looked it up and it's Chenopodium giganteum (fat hen is C. album) it's native to India and is supposed to taste like chard or spinach with a hint of asparagus when cooked (we'll see... maybe)

     

  • Agreed, a nice strong healthy Fat Hen (Dung weed) plant.

    I've not seen this before but my immediate thought was how similar leaves , especially cluster of pink ones, look to dung weed.
