An old French sign

Looks like this was painted around the time of the Second World War.

  • I think the sign is lovely. The French have always had an effortless chic, look at the font, it is timeless and it wouldn't really matter what it said!

There are still some old French books in the house.

This is the magnificent view (although it is a dull day)

Here are the two houses at the top of the lane (the only two). One is lived in and up until recently was a working farm/small holding.

The second is an old farm workers house that appears split into two. So the one room on either side was the kitchen, and bedroom.

It appears to have been abandoned some time back and was used as a store for wine after being used as a house.

You can access it from two directions but the last two hundred metres is rather muddy with just a grass track.

The view from the front of the house is of Monflanquin and as you can see, there are no other houses in the vicinity to block the view or blight the peace and quiet - this is truly rural and secluded.

    Hi Martin

The sign says that this is a private drive to two houses call Ricaud and Barbasset. The á, which means and, has an accent above it but it is slightly obscured by the black line/crease.
  • love the sign do you know who he was
