This looks good. Also, I've been checking Nat West's website re updates on Business Interuption Loans, and it's gone live. Have filled in the short form and they are saying someone will be in touch by end of next working day. Progress at last.

Now will await response on this loan, plus the above (self employed) and paye arrangements. The government is having to do a huge amount of new things here - it will take time to thrash out details / exceptions etc, and I think some patience is needed. Some things will fall through cracks, it's inevitiable due to the scale of the problem. They (governement) do seem willing to acknowledge this and fix it as it progresses.

    • Sounds good Andrew. Patience definately needed.

      • The patience is being stretched because of vague wording.  My work is not essential but my travel to work is essential.  I can take a couple of weeks unpaid leave but I need to know if the government is *telling* me to stop working (and will give me some income support), or if society is *asking* me to practice social distancing.

I think like most gardeners who work alone, we are being scooped up in a lockdown because Snowdonia was full of tourists.

I'm staying at home today and can occupy myself with sanding down the front door.  Counting the white vans going to and fro is frustrating.

    • Not hugely helpful for me.  Currently I am in the fortunate position of having plenty of work and my customers are happy for me to work in isolation.

I need clarity on if I am allowed to travel.

  • If this happens the self employed of us  will be on around 50% of normal pay. Not 80% as we are getting the average over 3 years. We could be off work for months..just back for slow (low wage)  winter working!

I know there is a bigger picture to all this. And we do need to keep everyone safe as possible,But we need to realise we are all in for a tough time if this policy comes through
