Ian Harvey replied to John F's discussion Telescopic step ladders
"I would definitely avoid the concertina type ladders that go right down to 1 step high. I've used customer supplied of these and felt as safe as standing on a stack of cardboard boxes!
However the 4 part telescopic step ladders look decent and…"

Billybop replied to John F's discussion Telescopic step ladders
"Been using a "Little Giant" 6-rung for the past decade, it's about 6ft tall when folded up, a bit heavy but strong and stable, I prefer it on most jobs to the 12ft tripod, more recently acquired, a friend was given this tripod in a load of scrap…"

James replied to Jason Taylor's discussion Hedge trimming costs
"Agree. Waste removal firms near me charge £20/£25 per bulk bag of garden waste and no doubt it gets tipped at the same site I use.
You are offering the same service so don't undercharge yourself."

Honey Badger replied to John F's discussion Telescopic step ladders
"In theory they look like a good idea. I did see a 20 something lad up a 12ft telescopic step ladder last year. The way it was bending looked alarming. I was tempted to offer him my 12ft tripod. "

Peter sellers replied to Paul Hebditch's discussion Large building site plot maintainence.
"Paul, that seems a very fair price for both parties. Obviously we have not seen the plots but we will not go anywhere for less than £45 plus vat even if it's 10 min work think you have been sensible, if someone wants to do it cheaper let them get on…"

Paul Hebditch replied to Paul Hebditch's discussion Large building site plot maintainence.
"Update:  In the end they wanted a price per plot so they could add and remove at will, so I said an hour per plot. Thinking I could probably run round 7-9 plots a day if there wasn't much weeding. After reading about the troubles on here, I went in…"

Darren Walters replied to Jason Taylor's discussion Hedge trimming costs
"Surely it's not about what it costs YOU to get rid of the waste, but what it would cost the customer to get rid of it themselves?  We are £25 per bulk bag but I don't itemise that on the quote.  Admmitedly I get it wrong sometimes (I could be out…"
