Talking about emotions is one of the most challenging things to do but reaching out to a loved one or even a stranger can have life-changing benefits. This industry is often a lonesome one – long days alone, dark evenings and dark mornings.

This can really take its toll. Having too much time to think can make thoughts spiral out of control and if they are kept private, they can develop the ability to brainwash you into thinking things that simply aren’t true. As they say, a problem shared is a problem halved, but sometimes just saying things out loud can put issues and feelings into perspective. Not only could it benefit your wellbeing, but it could also benefit your relationships – as being open, honest and trusting towards someone can make them feel important to you and can bring them closer. If you feel as if there is no one that you can turn to, please never feel as if there is nowhere to go.

My Dad created this whole platform in the aim of bringing people together. Talk amongst yourselves, privately or over a forum post, share your experiences with one another. You would be surprised just how many people feel the same way you do.

Some alternative support:

Men’s Health Forum: www.menshealthforum.org.uk

24/7 stress support for men by text, chat and email

Mind: 0300 123 3393 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm)

Website: www.mind.org.uk

Samaritans: 116 123 (Free 24hr helpline)

Website: www.samaritans.org.uk
