As garden furniture is unpacked and dispatched, lawns wither away and artificial turf is unfurled the value of garden decking, in it's many guises, endures.

Decking remains a popular garden fixture for home owners as a practical, low maintenance, high ROI solution. Our clients know that for a relatively modest investment the look and expanse of their garden can be transformed as their homes value is underlined.

The Cost v. Value Report Of 2016

Remodeling Magazines annual consumer report reaffirms this view. The survey of real estate professionals, dubbed the Cost. v. Value report, compares the ROI on a range of popular home improvement projects.

This years report featured both wooden and composite decking besting home investments including entry door replacements, family room additions and kitchen remodeling. As an aside, this years leading investment was loft insulation. You can read the full report here.

Wood v. Composite Decking

So often vying for the affections of our clients, the study saw wooden and composite optons competing in this cost analysis league table. According to the survey composite decking recouped a 64.5% of costs, while a wooden addition offered 75.5% return on investment.

It should be noted this was a US consumer study. However parallels can be drawn with comparable markets including the UK. When discussing the benefits of decking and garden design Jan Hytch, president of the National Association of Estate Agents noted:

"If a garden is well kept and designed, it's a real plus. It makes the property stand out and people would probably pay more for a really well-designed garden. It might add from 5 to 10% on the price of a house."

Of course, ROI and marketability are just a few of the reasons consumers opt for decking. Others are concerned with quality of life and hosting a beautiful garden. And when your garden is the envy of your neighbours why would you want to sell up anyway?

The myriad of decking options, be they composite or eco-friendly, will continue to sprawl across the market place. Whether you're based in Oxford or Witney, the standing of garden decking for it's formidable ROI is expected to abide for years to come.

Composite Decking around 2 sides of the propertyhttps://landscapejuicenetwork.com/profiles/blogs/composite-decking-around-2-sides-of-the-property2015-11-18T15:12:28.000Z2015-11-18T15:12:28.000ZElite Outdoor Livinghttps://landscapejuicenetwork.com/profil/composite_decking_eliteoutdoorliving

Every week we pick our favourite design, this week is a two sections of Resortdeck Composite Decking to be built flushed to the large windows surrounding two sides of the property.

The customer required a decking area for their outdoor living space which surrounds two sides of the property. With a number of large windows in place we designed the decking to be installed flushed to the bottom level of the windows creating a uniform look throughout.

However, a grey or black fungus can grow on it that is barely noticeable when it's dry, but is like grease when it's wet.

Slippery softwood decking

You have more than likely pressure washed the deck or scrubbed it with a chlorine bleach/ water mix to remove that fungus? By fitting these together in the model, I gain a better understanding of the structure than if I simply draw up 2D sections and elevations. By saving different views in SU, I can then export to Layout (part of the SketchUp Pro package)as scaled plan view, section, as well as perspective, and then once in Layout I can add dimensions and annotation, save as a pdf and my construction drawing is ready to issue or print off.

Since I’m fairly new to specifying these particular materials, I wanted to run my detail past the guys at Millboard just to check they were happy with the dimensions, and I was able to quickly email a few screenshots of the model, like the example at the top, over to them. They confirmed that the detail was as it should be, and also commented on how good the SU model was at communicating the information. I am increasingly finding that 3D visualisations are a great help on site, with builders and landscapers relying as much on my ‘artist’s impressions’ (thanks guys!) as my scaled plans and sections. They are a quick and very clear way of understanding how features are put together, and I think being able to offer information in this format is a real bonus for a designer.

www.chameleongardens.co.uk

Composite decking design installer Devonhttps://landscapejuicenetwork.com/profiles/blogs/composite-decking-design-installer-devon2012-10-24T20:30:00.000Z2012-10-24T20:30:00.000ZJackson's Landscape Designhttps://landscapejuicenetwork.com/profil/JacksonsLandscapeDesign

Jackson's landscape Design, Newton Abbot, Devon Have been appointed Devons designer and installer of the stunning Saige Longlife Composite decking, which creates a unique and beautiful outdoor living area that improves your lifestyle and your gardens, landscaping, swimming pools, hot tubs, spas, lodges, balconies, gazebos bridges, boardwalks, caravan decks, static mobile homes or just your abodes kerb appeal.

Composite deck decking Devon

Look no further for your bespoke composite decking installations, as a garden designer, landscaper, decking designer and installer, we offer a full 3D design and extremely high quality decking, deck installation service which is crafted around you and your garden, landscaping requirements Devon.

If your seeking a softwood design and installation service I strongly urge you to leave this page now!

Here's why

I answer my phone with "Kerry Jackson"

"Hello Mr Jackson, I'm ringing you to discuss a design and installation of a softwood deck within our garden"

Up until now, July 2012, I would and have on numerous occasions point blank refused to have any dealings with softwood decks, decking projects within Devon or Cornwall.

I have personally gone head over heels on slippery softwood decks, goodness knows how many others have landed on their backsides....it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if you have too......Not any more!!

Composite decking designer Devon

I am excited about the numerous colours on offer to you, in fact its endless, just a little notice is required for your bespoke colour requirements. Whilst we cannot release the secret recipe of SAiGE’s decking I can confirm that there is no glue involved in the process. It is a fairly straight forward two phase process as detailed below:

First, recycled wood flour and recycled plastic is mixed and heated to melting point. In this step the wood and plastic is uniformed mixing, with ratio about 4:5. Whilst the mixed material is cooled down the particles bond together (particle caking). The second part of the process is that the mixture is put into the extrusion machine, then it is heated again (at about 200C). The melting material is then forced through the tooling and shaped and cooled. As soon as it is made into the desired shape, then it is cut at the required length and finished on a separate machine with larger brushes to create a brushed effect.
<p style="text-align: the decking then this shows that the mixture has not been bound properly and you will potentially get problems with your decking.

Barkerhttps://landscapejuicenetwork.com/profil/SteveBarker
Learn the value of garden design pictures and how they can aid you in creating a masterpiece of a garden.4 Benefits of Garden Design Pictures and Garden PlansGarden design pictures and garden plans are unmatched when it comes to sparking creativity. Some people do not recognize the purpose of viewing photos of developed landscaping or reviewing plans if they intend to create their own original outdoor environment. However, experienced landscapers value photos and plans immensely.1. Photographs initiate a visionSome people are naturally gifted with visualization, but most people need basic notions to build off of. By exploring garden design pictures, landscaping ideas will emerge. Ideas can be combined and customized and provide inspiration to the landscaper, gardener or homeowner to create a unique, breathtaking design.2. Viewing photos can help you learn from mistakesEveryone who has sought to design a garden or landscape an area without proper knowledge and practice has made mistakes. When viewing pictures of gardens or landscapes, it is easy to identify errors, misjudgments and oversights. This critical line of thinking can help you to think of things that could have been done differently in the design that you are looking at and give you the opportunity to enhance the design that you envision.3. Garden plans can save timeMost garden plans or garden designs specify plants, trees, bushes, flowers, and so forth that grow in a specific hardiness zone and require the basics things such as sunlight, watering, soil conditions, and fertilization that are similar. Most likely the plants included in a design by a reputable designer or landscaper complement each other. By rearranging the plants in your design and adding different accessories and patterns, it is possible to draw up plans in an efficient manner without a lot of research.4. Garden planning can save loads of moneyIt is not usual for novice gardeners or do-it-yourself landscapers to purchase plants and landscaping accessories that they do not really need. Planning includes measuring and finding out the spacing that is required between each plant. If you have completed the process of planning your garden or landscaping idea, you will be prepared to go shopping, knowing exactly what you need which will help you to stay within your budget without being wasteful. The value of garden design pictures and garden plans contributes a lot to creativity in landscaping and gardening activities. They are factors in the learning process and they can save you time and money. Ultimately, they can help you to design original gardens or unique landscaping that you will proud to call your own.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Go to www.garden-design-pictures.com to see portfolios of what some professional Garden Designers and Landscape Gardeners have submitted. To get free advertising on www.garden-design-pictures.com visit the site and then email steve@garden-design-pictures.com requesting more information.
Health, Safety and innocent looking deck chairs.https://landscapejuicenetwork.com/profiles/blogs/health-safety-and-innocent2010-03-02T19:51:30.000Z2010-03-02T19:51:30.000ZKerrie John-The garden design Cohttps://landscapejuicenetwork.com/profil/KerrieJohnThegardendesignCo
Today I swung by a well-known chain of designer discount brands looking for a birthday present for my eldest daughter and came across two deck chairs. The canvass pattern was eye catching with lovely soft head rests, they were the same Danish make as the ones that I bought last summer for my garden which have a great ‘safe’ locking mechanism. Well mine do.After reading the invitiation placed on the chair, which read ‘feel free to sit on the garden furniture’, I duly did after first checking that the chair was locked into position. The noise was quite astounding as my coccysx followed by the back of my head hit the unforgiving tiles. I lay there for quite some time unable to move and a little confused when a very nice elderly man asked, “You all right love?” I was and I am after a few self-prescribed concoctions of painkillers. The deck chairs stayed in the shop after a swift Basil style kicking but two reliable and very fixed wooden chairs will adorn my daughter’s garden.
