These will be placed in position like a dry stone wall. The garden itself contains a wildlife pond and a circular oak deck and plenty of wildlife friendly plants. It will also contain insect houses and bird tables. <a target="_self" href="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/3314128078?profile=original"><img width="750" src="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/3314128078?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024" class="align-full"/></a></p><p><a target="_self" href="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/3314125639?profile=original"><img width="750" src="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/3314125639?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024" class="align-full"/></a>Two days in and things are progressing right on schedule.</p><p>When I go back tomorrow, the 9, 200x 200 green oak posts should be in position along with the pond and posts to support the deck.</p><p>I will update you all with more pics etc on Friday.</p></div>RHS Gold and Best in Showhttps://landscapejuicenetwork.com/profiles/blogs/rhs-gold-and-best-in-show2008-08-27T15:30:00.000Z2008-08-27T15:30:00.000ZSelina Bothamhttps://landscapejuicenetwork.com/profil/SelinaBotham<div><p> </p><p>Surrey based designer Selina Botham won RHS Gold and Best in Show for her first ever Show garden at Hampton Court 2008.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div><a href="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/3314123569?profile=original" target="_self"><img width="750" src="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/3314123569?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024" width="750" class="align-full"/></a></div><p> </p><p> </p><p><a href="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/3314122821?profile=original" target="_self"><img width="750" src="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/3314122821?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024" width="750" class="align-full"/></a></p><p> </p><p>Selina Botham designed the garden for Widex to celebrate sound in the garden. Planting was used to illustrated a soft whisper, laughter and the shouts of frustration that are associated with hearing loss.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The rhythmic water feature featuring a timed 'bloop' and 'splosh' and provided a relaxing sound focus in the garden. Planting was designed to attract bees and birds which are also welcome sounds in the garden.</p><p><a href="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/3314120840?profile=original" target="_self"><img width="750" src="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/3314120840?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024" width="750" class="align-full"/></a></p><p>Fun and interactive sculptures were featured in the garden and allowed visitors to make sound and interact with the garden. A listening wall allowed visitors to hear the sounds of a garden up close. Sculptor Claire Knights created copper sound sculptures and also a cheeky piece entitled 'a word in your shell like'. </p><p><a href="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/3314123974?profile=original" target="_self"><img width="750" src="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/3314123974?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024" width="750" class="align-full"/></a></p><p>The show garden was inspired when Selina moved into her new garden studio and started appreciating the sounds of the garden. Being immersed in a beautiful garden is good for well being and relaxation.</p><p> </p></div>
