The mowers, which are specifically designed for commercial use, are ideal for any contractor.

The Pro 46 mowing deck has a distinctive shape which produces a powerful suction and blowing effect ensuring a quality cut with maximum collection. With a 52 litre Xenoy grass box, all collections can be quickly emptied and cleaned with a hose. The Pro 46 rotary mowers are also lightweight and compact, making them ideal for mobile grass cutting units. No tools are required to fold the handlebars which makes transportation and storage extremely easy, and as an option, a PR46E mulching kit and PZ46M mulching blade convert Pro 46 mowers into formidable a mulcher.

For nearly two decades, The Landscape Group, who are one of the UK’s leading suppliers of grounds maintenance services to the public sector, have turned to Etesia to use a variety of pedestrian and ride-on models to carry out its mowing operations on housing estates and verge work. Etesia mowers are renowned for being able to cut and collect in all weather – even the wet; which sees The Landscape Group being able to utilise them all year round – not just for grass collection but also for leaf collection in the autumn.

Established in 1919, it is fair to say that The Landscape Group have un-rivalled industry knowledge and to keep intact their excellent reputation it is essential that the company use only the finest machinery and products in the marketplace, as Angus Lindsay, group head of assets and fleet for The Landscape Group explains:

“I choose to work with Etesia and their range of pedestrian and ride-on machines because they are not only reliable but extremely robust mowers. My experience with Etesia dealers is extremely good – they deliver the mowers on time and offer dedicated support. The only trouble is that it is rarely needed because nothing ever goes wrong with them”.
The Landscape Group’s decision to use Etesia’s products is testament to the quality of the machines. With an ever growing customer base including many of the UK’s top councils, landscapers and groundsmen, Etesia is the number one choice for users due to their reliability and low maintenance.

Angus was first attracted to the Etesia brand nearly twenty years ago by the ‘novelty’ of the Xenoy deck, something which Angus believed wouldn’t stand up to the rigours of the industry.

“How wrong I was!” he admitted.

For further information, please contact Etesia UK on 01295 680120 or visit www.etesia.co.uk

For more news, reviews and insightful views, you can follow Etesia UK on Twitter @EtesiaUK and like the company’s Facebook page –www.facebook.com/EtesiaUK. When it came to replace an old SISIS Robbi triple brush that the school had used for eight years, he visited the company stand at IOG SALTEX in September 2013 to purchase the newer enhanced Brush-Pro model.

“We’ve got a range of SISIS machines from slitters, scarifiers and sweepers to the machine we use on the synthetic surface, which we use on a daily basis,” said Brian. “The Robbi had done such a good job in the previous eight years, that when the time came to replace it, we knew what our preferred choice would be. We visited SALTEX and after a demonstration following the show, purchased the Brush-Pro early this year.”

Small enough to manoeuvre through a single gate, yet capable of performing the required daily or weekly activities to keep a synthetic surface in perfect shape, the SISIS Brush-Pro ride-on system has been specifically designed for maintaining synthetic surfaces. It consists of a pair of mid-mounted oscillating brush units for periodic aggressive maintenance and three foldable rear mounted brushes spreading 3 metres for more regular maintenance, which means fewer passes are needed compared to more conventional drag brushing, causing less surface compaction.

Synthetic surfaces require a good maintenance programme in place from installation. Failure to regularly remove dirt, leaf debris and other detritus from the surface can lead to contamination of the infill, which in turn prevents rainwater from draining freely through the carpet.

Brian says that all regular maintenance of the synthetic surface is carried out in-house by groundstaff at the school. "We need to ensure that the surface is always kept to a high standard as it’s not only used by pupils but also by the local community. The Brush-Pro needed to be small enough to be able to fit through a set of gates, yet powerful enough to cope with the weekly tasks we need to complete. In that respect, it’s great.”

Colfe’s School is one of a growing number of customers to enhance their on-site maintenance equipment with dedicated synthetic surface maintenance machinery from SISIS. From schools and colleges, to premiership football clubs and also pitch installers, the SISIS Brush-Pro offers the complete in-house maintenance machinery package.

“The oscillating brushes are by far its best feature as they enable us to not only get right into the surface but also control the moss on the edges of the surface. I’d have no hesitation in recommending the Brush-Pro to anyone looking after a synthetic surface,” said Brian.

For further information or a no obligation demonstration, please contact SISIS on 01332 824 777 or visit www.sisis.com
For more news, reviews and insightful views, you can follow SISIS on Twitter @SISISMachinery and like the company’s Facebook page – www.facebook.com/SISISMachinery. It’s far easier for me to take that headache out of the equation and let Richard Allen and his team deal with all of our spraying needs.

“They are reliable and I know that they have very high standards, so I don’t have to worry about their work as they are so good at what they do. We have access areas on to the pitches, which was previously covered in bark and I was looking at alternative surfaces as there is a lot of traffic from footfall and machines going onto the pitches – all of which was bringing mud and mess onto the pitches. Richard suggested a new product - baseguard.

Following a site survey, Complete Weed Control (London South) sent a team to remove the existing surface and create what Jason describes as ‘the finishing touch’.

The baseguard surface is available in a wide range of colours to create attractive finishes and bespoke designs and can also be readily installed on both new and existing surfaces. Typically, it is ready for use within 24 hours of application. Uses include:

Children's play surfaces
Pedestrian areas
Anywhere that needs an impact-absorbing safe surface

“The new surface is cleaner and far more practical than what we previously had. baseguard just finishes the area off and looks very professional.”

As well as working at the Cobham training, CWC carry out work at Stamford Bridge. “Anything we want doing here, I will ask Richard to do, and his team do it. We have a very close relationship. I have used them for many years – first dealing with Richard’s father John and can’t fault them. They save us so much manpower and are experts in what they do.” said Jason.

For more information, please contact Complete Weed Control’s National office on 01325 324 277 or visit www.completeweedcontrol.co.uk. He is kept busy looking after the vast sports facilities at the university preparing surfaces for students and staff including football, rugby, American football, lacrosse, athletics, tennis, hockey and cricket.

“We can put any sports event on for anyone that asks. There is nothing that we can’t do. It’s important that we have the best turf maintenance machinery available because our students expect the best playing surface,” commented Charlie.

“I first saw the Razor Ultra at a dealer demonstration day a couple of years ago and was very impressed from the moment I saw it. I liked the weight at just 130kg and its ease-of-use and especially the tungsten tipped groomer which really takes care of lateral growth.

“Since we’ve been using it on our cricket wickets, it’s been superb and gives a very consistent finish. It has more blades on the cutting cylinder than our previous mower and does an excellent job at a faster speed.”

The Dennis Razor Ultra 560 has been developed to specifically meet the demands of cricket pitches as well as golf greens & tees and bowling greens. The machine has a 560mm (22”) cutting width and incorporates many key features including an 11 bladed cutting cylinder, ultra short wheelbase for undulating surfaces, tungsten tipped groomer, compact handle design for extra manoeuvrability, click height adjusters and stub free transport wheels for easy transport from site to site.

The university closes the cricket wickets at the end of August in order to produce good growth in preparation for the following year and the Razor Ultra has been used at the university for the past six months in order to maintain a high quality wicket.

Charlie has worked with a Dennis for over 15 years and sees the new purchase easily lasting ten years: “I will get ten years out of this machine, if not more. They are so well built and I see myself always using them.

“I’ve had brilliant service from Jason Briggs, the Area Sales Manager as well as Dennis. They are always helpful and extremely informative,” said Charlie.

For further information or a no obligation demonstration, please contact Dennis 01332 824 777 or visit www.dennisuk.com

For more news, reviews and insightful views, you can follow Dennis on Twitter @DennisMowers and like the company’s Facebook page – www.facebook.com/DennisMowersUK. The facility is one of the leading sports facilities in the South West since the £1 million grant from the Football Foundation four years ago.

Last year, a further £50,000 courtesy of Sport England’s Olympic Legacy, £50,000 Viridor Credits and another grant from the Football Foundation enabled the construction of four additional natural sports pitches which now see an astonishing 500 league and cup matches and 552 training sessions held each season on the 54-acre site.

The facility is home to 41 football teams, 12 cricket teams and also a number of different sports hubs, so keeping such a large number of pitches in top condition is a testing job for head groundsman Adam Witchell, who joined the Town Council run Centre in June 2012. For regular maintenance of the football pitches at the Centre, Adam relies on the services of Sherriff Amenity for materials and equipment and the advice of its amenity specialist David Evans.

Pitch grass is cut to from 25mm in the summer months to 35mm in winter months to ensure a good playing sward where as many as four matches over a weekend are quite normal. Regular applications at 35gm per square metre of ProTurf fertiliser from Everris has proved a valuable plus factor in maintaining excellent density. The controlled release technology of this product leads to a consistent, regular growth over a 2-3 month period without growth peaks. The uncoated nitrogen portion of this fertiliser allows an immediate response to the turf, even in cooler conditions. The multi-nutrient compound fertiliser component contains four macronutrients all in one granule.

For closed season overseeding in May and June, applications of Johnson’s Prem Pitch seed and Rescue selective herbicide from Everris for the removal of invasive coarse grasses is resulting in the finest grass quality yet for the new playing season.

The Centre tries to see that all the pitches are aerated once a month. Divotting and unevenness caused by play are rectified by using the versatile SISIS Quadraplay one-pass maintenance system, which Adam explains does an excellent job keeping all the pitches looking tidy and always ready for play. Line marking for all of the pitches is carried out by two Bowcom GMX spray machines, which are now sold exclusively through Sherriff Amenity.

“We get over 30,000 people a year visiting and using our facilities here. It’s essential that all of the pitches look good and play well week in week out,” said Kevin Whitehorn, Beversbrook Sports and Community Facility Manager.

“A lot has been invested in the facilities here thanks to the Football Foundation and Sport England, which from October will also be used by Swindon Town FC first team and academy players. We must have a top class, reliable supplier for our pitch care needs and Sherriff Amenity is such a source of not just products but also advice.”

For further information, please contact Sherriff Amenity on 0115 939 0202 or email info@sherriff-amenity.com

For more news and insightful views, you can follow Sherriff Amenity on Twitter @SherriffAmenity.

SISIS Brush-Pro Chosen by Leicester City FC for Regular Maintenancehttps://landscapejuicenetwork.com/profiles/blogs/sisis-brush-pro-chosen-by-leicester-city-fc-for-regular2013-05-03T12:05:03.000Z2013-05-03T12:05:03.000ZFusion Mediahttps://landscapejuicenetwork.com/profil/FusionMedia

Leicester City Football Club has purchased a SISIS Brush-Pro ride-on brushing system for all regular synthetic surface maintenance at the club’s Belvoir Drive training ground. The machine which has been specifically designed for the maintenance of synthetic surfaces is used on the full size 3G pitch as well as the 80m x 60m indoor pitch.

Synthetic sports surfaces require a good maintenance programme in place from day one. Failure to regularly remove dirt, leaf debris and other detritus from the surface leads to contamination of the infill, which in turn prevents rainwater from draining freely through the carpet.

Leicester City’s Head Groundsman Ed Mowe has combated the problem of infill contamination at an early stage in the life of both synthetic pitches at the training ground, by regularly using the SISIS Brush-Pro. The system consists of a pair of mid-mounted oscillating brush units for periodic aggressive maintenance and three rear mounted brushes for more regular maintenance.

“I’ve used SISIS equipment for many years and have always found them to be reliable, easy-to-use and well-built products”, explained Ed. “Our synthetic surfaces are less than a year old and we wanted to be able to keep the regular maintenance of both pitches in-house. We researched extensively to see what products were available for our needs and the new re-designed Brush-Pro is the ideal machine for what we need.

“The oscillating brushes clean the top layers of rubber infill whilst ensuring an even distribution across the surface and help the carpet fibres stand up which keeps the pitches looking fresh and playable for the players when they can’t use the natural pitches”.

The SISIS Brush-Pro has been designed for maximum manoeuvrability and operator comfort which features an electric start, hydrostatic drive for forward/reverse and its brush combinations - oscillating for thorough periodic work and rear mounted brushes for routine frequent work which cause less compaction than more conventional drag brushes available.

“We couldn’t use a tractor and attachment because of access to the pitches through a gate and we also wanted to keep outside machinery off the surface as we didn’t want mud brought on to it. There is nothing else like it available on the market and means any of the grounds team can jump straight on and use it.

“Both synthetic pitches are heavily used by the academy players and also the first team. Because of this machine, we don’t have to rely on a contractor and can use it for our regular routine maintenance whenever we need to”.

The working width of the rear brushes stretch three metres meaning that the Brush-Pro uses fewer passes than conventional drag brushing causing less compaction to the surface. These can fold for transportation between different sites and ease of storage. The unit is powered by a powerful Honda GXV390 engine and includes a tow hitch suitable for use with the SSS1000, a one metre wide sweeper and rotary brush for use on synthetic turf surfaces to remove debris.

For further information or a no obligation demonstration, please contact SISIS on 01332 824 777 or visit www.sisis.com.
