Zipped garden waste bag

Hi all

Does anyone have any ideas as to where I can purchase zip top heavy duty waste bags?

I am looking for something like a standard 1Tonne heavy duty bulk bag, but specifically with a zipped lid.

doesnt need to be 1000litres, even a 500litre size would be ok.

i have tried internet search, without any success.

Thanks in advance.

I find the 1/4 tonne bags work well in a limited space , they stack well .

Homebase also do a selection of bags in the saxon range , i find them extremely hard wearing and economical , I have some used ones from last year still very useable and intact .

  • Thanks for all the suggestions so far guys.

  • Why not use a normal tonne/bulk bag half full, fold over the sides and tighten two cambuckle straps around it. That will compress the contents down, keep the top from opening and you can lift it with the straps.

    • Good idea- something simple that I can't believe I haven't tried already.

  • I recently bought a Bosch AXT25 TC to help reduce the volume of waste produced from hedge cuttings and shrub prunings etc. It’s been very useful in the short time I’ve had it, it’s compact enough to fit in any car and will happily chomp through <45mm branches. The job obviously takes a bit longer, but customers have been absolutely fine with that as they don’t have to pay waste disposal fees ( I have access to a large compost facility, if the material is chopped down to size ), or I leave the green waste on their compost heap. This may be another avenue worth exploring.

  • i have a pathfinder as you say its supprising hoe big they are if i had to use it to remove rubbish i just filled the bagc half full and you could stack them 3 high plus a bag down the side could get 8 bags in plus hand tools and cutters

    Hi Ian

Have thought about using barrow bags, much easier to handle on your own a fit through garden gates. You can buy seagull proof bags from here

They are only 180 litre but have a velcro sealed top.
