The growing season

I am getting my mowers back out as from March 1st. Just wondered who is already cutting? And who wont be cutting for a while yet?

My sites have suddenly started to sprout new growth all of a sudden so am going to start cutting every other week on a high setting to tidy them up before the growing season really kicks in!

Also noticed, growth on hedges, shrubs budding and the dreaded weeds are starting to come back!

Hope everyones ready for the growing season!?

all depends on the ground tempture in your area ,   and what the grass is growing on  sandy soil or clay  , but if it grows mow it .

  • Just got our mowers back from being serviced only to find one of the 56s has a knocking sound on the engine :( now to find an old style engine )

The lawns are starting to grow but I may treat with iron next week before I mow.

  • I have been weeding for a week but not mowing yet. Will do all my lawns with the box to lift everything even on those ones that I mulch. Then a selective in Mid April. One site seems to be so overrun with clover that's all I end up cutting, so it's getting a good treatment this year which should lighten the workload somewhat.

Great seeing loads of buds on shrubs and fruit so a good prune and tidy is easy.
