Well done, and this adds evidence to the stereotypes we make about such people... BECAUSE IT'S TRUE!
Glad you got the machine sorted - did you take steps with insurance up to now?
Well done great news, hope they prosecute the "travelers" however I will not hold my breath.
Top marks to Timberwolf.
Great news - I know what it's like to 'loose' expensive kit and not have it recovered !
I make no comment on the stereotypes, nobody has yet been tried and convicted, I simply relayed the facts as reported to me.
Our insurers were very good and paid up promptly and we were back in business quite soon afterwards. Obviously there was an interruption in our workflow and that cost us.
The recovered chipper is up for auction on the buckley scott salvage website with bidding currently at £3500. A steal at that price (excuse the poor taste) but it will need some work since a few bits appear to be missing.,
Great news, its every tradesman's worst nightmare having their equiptment/ livelyhood stolen by scumbags like this! Lucky to get it back!
good !
Wow that is really good news!
So glad for you- that it found and in good condition.
I had a van stolen (was not insured at the time).
was £7000 at the time but when was found the police chased it- 3 years later.
It was sold for £50.00 for scrape. ( I am glad I did not have to see it- I was in the uk when was found).
there was not one part on it that was not damaged when found.
Good stuff! couldn't agree more about the stereotypes for these people!, did anyone watch the tv program about the "travelers"?. I seem to remember one bit where they were going door to door with a transit asking people if they wanted any tree work doing (when I say asking more likely intimidating little old ladys into agreeing to the work!). They were then carting off all the branches and chipping it up and dumping it on motorway embankments.
Probably a nice little earner for them, but where do they get all that kit??? and i'm sure there all qualified and insured.
I had £ 1500.00 worth of tools stolen from my van last Thursday afternoon from the local sports center making a claim now, after speaking to various trades/suppliers there is a lot of it about, so watch out no where is safe......
