Stolen yesterday in North London a Timberwolf TW150 DHB Chipper in original orange livery.
Distinguishing feature: Aluminium sheet repair using pop-rivets and self-tappers to one of the rubber mudguards.
The thieves managed to break the padlock securing it to the truck and attach it to a Silver Volvo and drive off whilst the tree surgeons were in the process of carrying logs around from the rear of the property.
If you are offered one second hand for silly money (they were £15k new) or see one in the street sporting the mod to the mudguard, please contact either the police or me on 02085409968
You can bet it won't be around London for very long but may turn up somewhere near you....probably operated by someone who is unqualified and uninsured working on the knock from door to door.
At the very least, they give the legitimate industry a bad name but they also prey on us and our (your) clients too.
If you can help catch either the thieves or those who buy stolen goods from them, you will be doing yourselves and the whole industry a favour.
Thanks

The serial number is S/N 208143024-A5 it will be freehand engraved or possibly stamped on an aluminium manufacturers plate pop-riveted to the front LH side of the A frame just down from the towing bracket.
If this plate is missing or looks tampered with, be suspicious.
Ditto Andy's sentiments.
Might be worth posting a few images, I'm sure that some people on the forum know kit like this intimately but I wouldn't know what it looked like if I fell over it, can't be the only one?
Here is an example of the chipper:

Thanks for posting the link up. They are an awesome piece of kit and I guess that's one reason why the thieves targetted it.
No news yet from the police so I guess the chances of getting it back are dropping rapidly.
Well the good news is that the Police have arrested and charged someone with posession of stolen property.
The bad news is that we had a truck window smashed and a 60" saw stolen last week.
It seems to happen when we are doing a carry through.... cutting down a tree in the back garden of a Terraced house and carrying it out through the house.
its sad but thieves never cease to amaze me in how far they actually go in stealing machinery and equipment, sadly its big business for them, our equipment are easily stolen and fenced very quickly with a high retail price.
ill look out
