Sky Talk Customers:Bad Experience

Dear Members,Just wanted to take some advice from all of you.Recently we have opened our company branch in Poland and took Sky Talk unlimited pacakage.I have been advised by the sales staff that I just need to pay £5 extra with my monthly line rental and I can make unlimted phone calls to all Europe. After this,I have spoken to our people in Poland lots of time but I was shocked and surprised when I saw my bill from Sky.I asked them why are you charging me so much amount of money. They told me that I have made so many phone calls to Poland and it is not included within the plan.I asked sky why do you employed people who do not have proper and exact information about their products but they are not listening me and keep saying I have had to pay this bill. The final bill is 469 GBP ..:)I know this is not relevant to landscaping and garden designing but would anyone else like to share their experience on this.I really do not know what to do about this.So any advice will be really appreciated. Many thanks in advance.Best RegardsManjitwww.hariomtradeint.co.uk

  • We had an awful time with Sky not quite the bill amount as yourself because we didnt call poland :)
We were told £5 per month to get unlimited calls but everytime the bill turned up it was so much higher. We cancelled and complained and eventually got the bill reduced. For months afterwards we continued to get sky talk bills and letters from BT saying they were sorry we were leaving them until I evetually got BT to report them for basicly stealing customers by force.
I would never ever take sky talk again and would strongly advice anyone to think long before getting involved.
  • It may be worth asking Sky to provide you with a copy of the recording they made of your conversation with their sales person, they usually state somewhere that calls are recorded for training purposes. If they can't, then I would suggest that may give you a point to argue on when you get into the dispute with them, ask them to supply the evidence. It is unlikely you would sign up to something that you knew from the outset was going to cost you so much money.

I have two lines with BT both with featureline both at different addresses and one with an additional number so calls can be diverted to they are on BT call packages that cap call costs. Total per month including VAT £95.
  • Same story happened to me as well.I am now never going to recommend SKY Talk to anyone else.Thank You

  • Hello Stuart,
After our verbal conversations, sales staff told me that I am going to receive confirmation of this contract within a few days via post which never happened. For our business we also have unlimited plan from BT but at my new home I have got SKy Talk and I am totally unhappy with the type of services I am getting from them.Sorry for replying so late but I am in Poland at the moment for few contracts and schedule is very busy here.Regards

Did you not recieve a written contract stating terms of use?
I've just gone unlimited with BT, I was only evening calls and weekend and they changed the start time from 6pm to 7pm and since my bills were hitting £200 plus I decided to change to unlimited anytime. Spoke to chap about it and swapped my package and he confirmed I would recieve paperwork to confirm this. I have recieved the new contract which explains any calls which are still chargeable.
  • Unfortunately,I do not have any records of this. Some people just to get sales always provide wrong information about the company products.Yeah, you are right.I was miss sold about this product.Thank You for your advice.

Any record of this, if so then refuse to pay, otherwise still make a fuss but you will probably have to pay knowing you were miss sold. I had similar 3 years back with Yell, the salesman blatantly lied and it cost me £3000 but as no written record I had to lump it.
  • I have requested the evidence of contract and also told them please go through your recorded calls as I am positive about this. They get back to me and said they do not record all phone calls. Thanks Manjit
