Promotional Help Needed!

As some of you may have seen on other discussions, I've just started a podcast teaching garden design. I really want to get this out there so as many people as possible to know it exists, but...

It takes a few reviews to get noticed before iTunes will list a podcast on 'new and noteworthy' so if you have a mo please could you do the honours & leave a quick review!

http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/ggf-1-the-key-to-creating/id418559327

I'm also running a competition, where the person who leaves the most inspiring review (I want to get people motivated to change their garden this year) will win a copy of The Great Garden Formula online course worth £265 (though currently on an early Spring offer half price).

So if that's something you'd like to win, check out this competition page  before you leave an iTunes review.

Many thanks

Rachel

  • Hi Rachel

Just had a listen to GGF 3, for a novice like me I found it useful.Narrative style was breezy and engaging which kept the interest. Very difficult to inform through pure audio though; the visual and kinaestethic learners out there it may find it a struggle but that's the nature of the media.Having said that, I did learn that the scale drawing stage is vital and if you get it right on paper, it will look right in the end-which is re-assuring, as I have a rather large job later this year for an existing customer ! It did prompt me to go on your website to find out a bit more.

Can't seem to leave an itunes review at the mo...

    thanks

    Mark

  • eh? What I listened to was free.
  • Will listen and post review when i get the chance.

Not sure your opinion about face book but here may be worth advertising this - http://www.facebook.com/thegardendesignco

  • Gaynor -oh dear, not sure why that is. Should be working.

Dan, no worries but yes it is a shame iTunes won't let you leave a review unless it's installed!

Mark - yes that is something that almost stopped me doing a podcast. Garden design is a very visual subject, so I try to put an analogy in that will help people picture what I'm talking about. And when all else fails, I steer people towards a free video tutorial.

If you have any specific questions I can help you with, let me know and I will put the answer in a future episode.

Thanks Cloe, they are more tea break length, so won't get you all the way to Germany, have a great trip!

John - LOL! The podcast is free! And so is 90% of the info on the website. The first thing people are pointed to is a 50 page ebook on how to create a great garden either by DIY or working with landscape professionals. You can see check it out here http://www.successfulgardendesign.com/podcast/

Yes, a percentage of people may well buy an ebook or a course if they don't want to trawl through the site. But if you were to read all of the posts on the blog and watch the tutorials, you'd have a lot of what you need for free.

Thanks Chris, I'm only just getting into Facebook, it feels slightly unnatural to me at the moment, but I'm sure I'll get used to it! I will check out the link.

Thanks everyone for your support, really appreciate it :o)

  • Gaynor, you should be able to listen to it just from the link, it's only to leave a review that you need to install iTunes.

just left you 5star review its something which would realy benifit budding designers because you do point out some common mistakes people make when trying to put together plans and also i think it works well from another view to be able to bring a client into understanding what is involved and how its all done which would give them a more imaginative look when your showing them the final plans
  • I will have a listen later Rachel.

As it is a visual thing why not consider a video on Vimeo or Youtube.

Your welcome to any free help I can give you, as is anyone else.

  • Thanks Neal, really appreciate it :o)

I do also do some video stuff but thought I would give podcasting a go first because people can listen on the go more than with video. I may also incorporate some video into the podcasts.

Any ideas you have for future episodes would be much appreciated!

    Thanks everyone

  • Rachel
