"I have just noticed I am on the first page through LJN too"
I think you've just answered your own question Nigel. Why pay when you are on the first page anyway...for free:)
If I were you I'd spend time writing blogs about services you offer making sure that keywords reflecting your locality and services are included within the text.
Thanks Phil,
New to all this, do you mean writing blogs on here?
Yes Nigel, why pay for Google juice when you can utilise the collective juice of the network;-0)

One of the best sales calls I ever had was from these people - on one of my rare days in the office, they called me with almost exactly the same offer.
I quickly tapped into Google various terms - on every search I tried I got on the first page through either my own website or LJN...
In short - as Phil says - don't pay for what you can get for free!
Can the Google sales guy offer you access to a wide range of other professionals and knowledgeable individuals who can offer help and advice on all aspects of the industry that you could possibly wish to ask about??
LJN can.....
Thanks Adam,
I've looked at your website- it's very friendly and has all the keywords. I need to look at ours again.
Phil,
Does it make a difference to search engines's what I add to the 'About Me' section of LJN, I've noticed that Adam's (ANP) has lot's more info about what they do.
Definately Nigel. An about page is one of the most important pages on any site.
You need to add as much information as you can detailing: skills | experience | training | service | location | photos | videos | testimonials etc etc.
Always bear in mind that a potential client is not going to come to LJN first and then click onto your about page; there's a greater likelihood you will be found by someone conducting a search directly through a search engine.
Hi JP and Gaynor,
Thanks for your great advice, approximately how much work do you think that you get through your website's, I suspect mine might be mainly through word of mouth and recommendation?
We are still new to all this!
even if your work is through recommendation, having a great web presence (LJN my page, blogs and adding t forums, plus your website, and your comments on other people's websites) will help you to get people to phone you when they look you up.
But more important than that, - you won't get the wrong people calling you. - If your blogging is all about projects that you've done, then you'll get people phoning who are interested in those kind of projects.
