Hi Everyone

my New website is live, with a focus on my garden talks and consultations (which are what bring in my planting and renovation work)

Would you please have a look at www.plantpassion.co.uk

and let me know if everything works - particularly what browsers you are looking at it in.

and if someone would send me a message from the form i'd be grateful

All the photos are mine ;)

I'm working on the Seo this evening, - so I realise that isn't up to date yet.

Thank you

Claire

  • I like it  apart from the border round the customer feedback boxes .

  • do you mean the dots?

is it a personal thing, or doesn't it work in your browser?

  • Really nice website Claire, I'm in the process of building mine and it looks crap compared to yours!! I'm jealous lol :-)

  • Now I have to admit, that i'm lucky and have a sister who's a graphic designer, a husband who can code, and i've sent myself on several copywriting courses. -  Still isn't easy and has taken a Lot of work. - But you need to have a website that represents how you want to work.

  • hasn't come through yet, - don't know if it's being slow or not coming - last night hubby tried and tried then when I got up this morning I had 11 test emails!

    Hi Claire,

Taken a look at your new website, very bright & colourfull.

But does not display properly in 'Firefox'.

For example, in the customer feedback box, some lines over run the edge of the box, and the last 2 words are invisible, I know they are there when I highlight the text.

    That's on the home page.

On the about us page, same thing, last 4 words not visible.

    These are your red boxes.

I would say your consultation page was a little unclear, An overview of your consultations before the different packages, perhaps?

The text about your packages, is going over your price boxes, particularly Silver & Gold

Your 'Hints & Tips' box text is partially invisible, text in the 'Contact' us now box is longer than the box

Similar issues on your workshops page.

A link from your consultations page to workshops and vice versa, would be useful as there no tabs along the top bar for these pages?

  • Hi Geoffrey, - thanks for great feedback , - are you using Firefox on a PC? as we're not seeing some of those issues

Will add some extra stuff on the consultation page, - thanks, and look at extra links

  • I hope you don't mind me being blunt Claire but...

    What do you do?

The website copy doesn't tell me. I think it's a classic case of being too close to the subject. Sorry if that is a downer but I don't BS people. You have about 3-5 seconds from people landing to convince them to go any further.

On the bright side it is nice and colourful which I liked...

I would ditto that also, tried to find your website via google, searched for Garden consultant, Garden designer, garden services, all within Surrey and not in the first five pages, didn't search any further, but neither will customers

I am using Firefox on a PC, with a standard screen.

Just the expression, PlantPassion, motivates me to read more, as I did with your last website.

But I do agree with Richard, there as too little explanation as to what you do, it is difficult for me to be objective because I have a good understanding of what you do already.

But if your website is read primarily by people directed to it by your blog or posts on LJN, previous customers or by talks that you give, then it makes more sense.

If they land on it by key word search, etc greater explanation is needed of what you are about.
