money

Hi everyone, I have a customer that is playing around with money, broken promises of money being transfered and the like.  It seems that he is only transfering half of what he promises to do. He runs three businesses so he should know how to treat people, what would you do in this situation, pull off site? or...  any suggestions would be gratefully received.  Thanks guys.

if hes agreed to part pay through the project dont do any more till the payments are met, if hes not paying now whats the lkelihood he will pay at te end?

3 businesses doesnt mean hes actually making any money he could be on the verge of bankruptcy for all you know!!

  • yes I am over half way through the job, though, its just the broken promises sending half the money of which he says has gone through.  Very Frustrating, very.  I am too small a business if you see what I mean.  Lovely job to work at cant understand the man.
  • I have decided to no go into the site today just waiting for payments to go through.  It is soooo frustrating.

Alarm bells would be ringing for me too Christopher. I would give him an ultimatum/deadline.
  • I have had words, with him on two occasions and he has always promised me payments, which as said has been only half of what he says.   It is driving me mad, I think the materials on site need to be picked up.
  • yes i do have to be cagey on this, as you said it could blow up, thanks for being so honest though, what do you think about removing the materials on site not used.  It is a tricky one, I am so mad at the moment, but I have to keep it in for the sake of the situation.
  • well colin I have not received all the payment, it is pretty close close enough to pull off site if I collected two packs of paving not used.  The final payment if it does happen would just cover the cost.

i know it sounds negative but i think you will have to think worst case scenario.

have you recieved enough money so far to cover materials and labour used already?

would the amount outstanding cover the cost of the job if he is the same with the final payment?

can you afford to have to risk going to court with it and just find he declares himsel bankrupt leaving you with 3p-£?

  • saying that yes but he has the terms and conditions twice now.  So no excuse for him on that score.  Does anyone know how to find out if his business is in trouble, bankrupt and the like. I have tried FSB legal,.

saying that he could just be like a lot of people on here waiting till everyone gets round to paying there invoices at the end of the month

  • hi

tell him you will issue him with a winding up order,

But you can take him to the small claims court.
