Meadow Grass and Wild Flowers

I have put an area of long grass with wildflowers/spring flowers in my design which is just being created. I was just wondering if anybody had any tips for creating such an area ? I expect to be starting with top soil. Thanks Glenn

  • How are you going to allow for maintenance on this area Glenn? Meadow grasses need to be cut for best effect, is it a strimmable area or will access have to be allowed for a 'finger bar' type mower?

Also I believe (although willing to be corrected) that POOR soil provides the best conditions, not topsoil?
