Masonry Table saw recommendations?

Hi everyone.

We've a 250m2 porcelain patio coming up in the new year, and I'm wondering what peoples recommendations are for masonry table saws. The slabs are just over 1m in length and 60cm in width.

With the cuts needing to be so precise, i'm not going to tackle it with the Stihl saws!!

I'm happy to pay for a good quality machine, as we're often paving and it would be nice to move away from hand held petrol saws, plus they cut down on the dust and save the back!

Thanks in advance

  • Dan if you want to cut just over 1m you might want a bridge/slab saw, as most of the table saws will not do that length. they are a bit pricey also what power source are you requiring i.e. petrol or electric 110/ 220

I could do without spending that type of money so early on in the year, but i'm sure we'll end up using it on every job so.....

Make sure you can get a vented blade for it. A continuous rim blade like that is no use whatsoever for cutting slabs.

One of the tilers had one similar to that and sold it on Ebay, as he rarely has to do a straight cut with most requiring a bit of scribing.

With the saws like that it's a straight cut or nothing, was his comment.
