Maintenance charges

Hi. Been running my business for 5years. I've was approached by my local council 2years ago regarding landscaping and hedge work, which is going well getting plenty of work from them. They have asked me to quote for the maintenance of a local village, ie grass cutting. I know what i can charge for  private cuts but am unsure what to charge the council. Any ideas what i should be charging. Thanks.

  • A good place start is looking into your local parish accounts which are available for everyone to read. There you should be able to find out what they were paying the last contractors.

My answer would be to calculate what its going to cost you to do the work, then add on a fair profit and submit your price based on these tow commercial rules
