Lutyens house wanted !

Not content with working with lawnmowers in my business I spend my winter months and spare time restoring just about anything old. This is a hobby and certainly not for any financial gain as the results of my efforts are invariably given away to a museum or other worthy establishment or sold with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.

Over the past few months my latest project has been the restoration of a vintage 1920’s Atco Standard 16” cylinder mower – the ‘before’ shown in my profile photo.  The machine is now as new.

I want to video and photo the Atco but all our clients, myself included, have modern or post war houses which would be an inappropriate setting. Ideally I’m looking for a Lutyens or earlier style of property with a well maintained striped lawn on which to video the mower with a house befitting the period in the background. Oh, and must be somewhere in Surrey !

If any members know of a suitable venue or have a client willing to cooperate please get in touch.

Many thanks, Roy.

Hi Roy where about are you based? Admire your resolve in restoration projects (don't have the time or patience), but hopefully as it is for a very worthy cause I am sure someone will be along to give advice as to location of property you are looking for.
  • Hi Stephen,

Epsom, on the downs. I may contact the National Trust as they have suitable property but they can be a bit difficult allowing access to their grounds when closed.
