Lawn Diseases

I am having terrible trouble with lawn diseases in one of my lawns.

It started with red thread, has had bouts of fusarium and now has blooming fairy rings!!! I dont understand it, I do everything I possibly can to have the best lawn from feeding to scarifying, but it still keeps flaring up and im sick of bleaching my equipment after using them!!

I bought a product called chipco green and it does work, but is very expensive so is hard to use as a preventitive. Shall I just live with them? (hard to do when your a lawn enthusiast)

I have to live with the bitch scorch already!

Anyone else having any disease problems?

  • Put the fungicides away they have no place on a lawn.

Feed with the right fertilisers at the right time of year.

Cut regularly at the right height.

Scarify regularly and aerate, aerate, aerate.

  • I try to do all of the above and have even gone to the trouble of drawing up an annual lawn care plan, however when you have a client who doesn't want to spend money on hiring scarifiers and aereators and think it may look messy afterwards its hard to implement.
I've tried explaining the lawn is the most important plant in the garden and just because it has nice stripes doesn't mean its a good lawn, but all to no avail.

Say bye bye to the synthetic fertilisers and go organic for  happy soil and grass.
