Growing tomatoes

Can someone please point me to a source of clear infomation on caring for tomatoes, (preferably with diagrams). I've just planted two Rio Grande (paste), four salad (variety unknown, purchased from co-operative for 25p each) and two cherry (also unknown, donated by Salvadore). In the previous three years they've become very unwieldy and I want to keep them in check this year. I've tried reading advice but I still don't understand about pinching out and only having five trusses. Thanks,Thicko

    My apologies to Kerrie

I thought she was being a bit harsh on Roger for calling him a thicko until she pointed out he signed himself off as 'Thicko' :-0((

Kerrie remove her reply which wasn't necessary so sorry Kerrie.

    Thicko II :)
  • You numpty Phil. Yes, I did sign myself Thicko and Kerrie knows she can call me anything she likes (as long as it's not late for breakfast). I've pm'd her as I got a notification and couldn't find her reply.
If you've wrecked my relationship with Kerrie, I shall drive up to French France and throw dog merde at your front door.

  • Phil, you made me feel horrid, but you are forgiven.

Bigyin you ‘Thicko’, you would always be late for meals, YOU LIVE IN SPAIN!

p.s. Can't help you with your trusses but do have a very large, greedy dog!
  • Yes but the shop bought ones are no better here than in UK.
  • Thanks Colin. I don't have trubs with flowering and get more fruit than I need. I want to keep the plant neat as apart from anything else, they catch the wind with too much foliage.
Grass cuttings don't exist here. Lawns are few and far between.
Yes, there are only two of us to use them up, that's why so few plants.
    Thanks again,
    Bigyin
