it last longer than most.
hole/gaps can get damaged/blow litter in/ growth from next door etc - good 'negative ' points.
1.solid is more secure.
2. solid lasts longer.
3.you can do it well/done it before
saying this its just come to mind you could do 5 ft with 1ft trellis on -top to break it up /light in
light comes from above so 'slats' dont let much in anyway !
-my opinion (climbers could be grown on trellis then too )
